Sullamusalam Science College, Areekode, organised the Eranad-Ponnani Heritage Tour during November 1, 2024. The heritage walk, organised in search of the history and heritage of the anti-British struggles of Eranad and Valluvanad, was a novel experience to the participants.
College Manager Prof. N. V. Abdurahiman, flagged off the event which was organised by the departments of History and Journalism as part of the 80th anniversary of Sullamusalam Institutions and the 30th anniversary of Sullamusalam Science College.
The heritage walk, headed by Shebeen Mehboob, journalist and researcher,  was attended by around 50 people from different parts of the district.
During the programme, the participants visited the various locations such as the tomb of Ensign 
Wyse at Manjeri Boys School premises, the The British Police Outpost at Mudikode, the tombs of Pookottur war martyrs, Malappuram Mosques, Lancaster's tomb, various ancient churches in Ponnani, Azheekkal village and Layam Music club.
