The Department has been operational since the college's inception in 1995. It is one of the largest computer science departments under the University of Calicut. The postgraduate course, which started in 2001 with 10 seats, boasts a nearly perfect pass rate every year. Among the nine faculty members, four hold Ph.D. degrees, while the others are actively pursuing their research.

The department has produced high-quality professionals who hold significant positions in the Information Technology industry both in India and abroad. Our distinguished alumni excel in key roles within various reputable organizations, and many of our students are engaged in research at prestigious universities and institutions.

We conduct national seminars almost every year, inviting eminent resource persons from both educational and industrial fields. The department was recognized as a Research Centre during the 2018-19 academic year. To foster research and innovation in computing, we have established a dedicated research room with a lab under the Department of Computer Science.

In addition to academic courses and soft skills training, we place a strong emphasis on research and innovation. Remedial coaching has significantly improved the academic performance of weaker students.
