The department started with B.Sc course in 1999. The student intake is 40. The PG course started in 2004 and has 12 seats. The faculty includes four permanent teachers and 3 guest lecturers. Department maintains 100% result al-most every year. The students of the department win first prizes in the National Level Essay Presentation Contest prganized by BARC, Mumbai, almost every year. A material Sciences lab also been setup under the department for promoting research among students in this area. Department regularly organizes seminars and conferences and conducts Open House Programme as part of the Science Day Celebrations every year. Dr. Mohemmed Shanid.
