NAAC re-accredits Sullamussalam with A grade

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has re-accredited Sullamussalam Science College, Areekode, with A grade in the third cycle of accreditation and assessment process. The college secured A grade with 3.11 points out of 4.

The NAAC Peer Team Members visited Sullamussalam Science College, Areekode, on 19th and 20th November for the third cycle of Assessment. The team, headed by Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty, Former Vice Chancellor, Central University of Orissa, was in the campus for two days assessing various quality initiatives and teaching and learning practices in the college. The team also had separate interactions with the Principal, Management Committee Members, IQAC Coordinator, heads of departments, students, alumni members and parents. 

"The evaluation process of NAAC has been changed drastically over the past few years. It's a remarkable achievement that we could retain the A grade being with in our limitations," says Dr. P Muhamed Ilyas, Principal. The team praised the College for its innovative practices being implemented under various criteria of NAAC accreditation, including teaching, learning and evaluation, green initiatives, extension & outreach etc. The team was highly impressed by the performance and activities of various departments, clubs, cells and forums functioning in the college. 

NAAC's assessment and accreditation is based on seven eligibility criteria such as Curricular Aspects; Teaching, Learning and Evaluation; Research, Innovations and Extension; Infrastructure and Learning Resources; Student Support and Progression; Governance, Leadership and Management; Institutional Values and Best Practices.
