B Voc welcomes freshers with Bridge Course

The department of B. Voc Broadcasting & Journalism welcomed the new batch of students with a four-day bridge course from 8th July 2019 to 11th July 2019. Apart from the faculties from the department, resource from the college and outside the campus handled various sessions.

Hisham P, Motivational Trainer, Phoenix Academy, Kannur, handled the first sessions of the bridge course on Monday. Started with a Ice Breaking session, the first day of the programme had sessions on Goal Setting, Motivational tasks and Team Building.

Habeeb Rahman YP, Assistant Professor, Department of Broadcasting & Journalism handled a session on ‘Career in TV: Potentials and Challenges’ on 9th July. The second session of the day - ‘Changing Media Scenario: Coping with Challenges’ - was led by Riyas Aboobacker, Head of the Department. In the afternoon, Safeer K, Asst. Prof., Dept. English, led a session on ‘Skills of English Language Development’.

The third day of the Bridge course had three sessions. The first session on ‘Improving Malayalam Language Skills’ was handled by Bineesh MK, Editorial Staff, Poorna Publications, Kozhikode. Muneer VK, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, led a session titled ‘Travel: The Unending Life Experience’. The third session of the day - Career in Radio: Potentials and Challenges – was led by Muneer K, Transmission Executive, All India Radio, Manjeri.

On the last day of the Bridge course, Afsal Kadavan, a freelance photographer, handled a hands-on session on ‘Building a career in Photography’ and Riyas Aboobacker, Head of the department of Broadcasting & Journalism led a session on ‘What is B.Voc and What Not’. The four day bridge programme came to an end with a feedback and evaluation session on 11th July 2019.
